Psalms 99 Study & Commentary

Psalm 99 emphasizes the holiness of God. It repeats the refrain "for he is holy" and notes that God was an answering God to Moses, Aaron, and Samuel, though He punished their inventions.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Exalt the Lord: Because God is holy, He is to be worshipped at His "holy hill" with reverence (v. 9).
2. The Forgiving Judge: God was a God that forgave them, though He took vengeance of their inventions (v. 8). Grace and justice co-exist.

FORMAL PRAYER

Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the Lord our God is holy. Amen.
