Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 78 is a long historical psalm, exhorting the next generation to learn from the rebellion of their fathers and God’s faithfulness from Egypt to David.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Teaching the Children: We must not hide God’s works from the "generation to come" (v. 4). Family discipleship is vital.
2. The Danger of Unbelief: Israel limited the Holy One of Israel by their doubt (v. 41). Our faith or doubt affects our experience of God.

FORMAL PRAYER

Give ear, O my people, to my law. Help us to set our hope in Thee and not forget Thy works, but keep Thy commandments. Amen.
