Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 50 is a courtroom scene where God judges His people, emphasizing that He desires heart-felt thanksgiving and obedience more than ritualistic animal sacrifices.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. God’s Ownership of All: "Every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills" (v. 10). We cannot "give" God anything He doesn't already own.
2. The Sacrifice of Thanksgiving: God is honored by the one who "offereth praise" and "ordereth his conversation aright" (v. 23).

FORMAL PRAYER

Gather thy saints together unto thee, O Lord. Help us to offer unto Thee thanksgiving and to pay our vows unto the Most High. Amen.
