Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

Psalms 73 Study & Commentary

Psalm 73 addresses the struggle of seeing the prosperity of the wicked. Asaph almost slipped until he "went into the sanctuary" and understood their final end.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Danger of Envy: Comparing our struggles to the "ease" of the ungodly is a spiritual trap (v. 3).
2. The Sanctuary Perspective: Eternal perspective is found in worship. We see that the wicked stand in "slippery places" (v. 17-18).

FORMAL PRAYER

Whom have we in heaven but Thee? and there is none upon earth that we desire beside Thee. God is the strength of our heart, and our portion for ever. Amen.
