For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.

But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.

Chapter Study & Analysis
Overview
Psalm 73 addresses the struggle of seeing the prosperity of the wicked. Asaph almost slipped until he "went into the sanctuary" and understood their final end.
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. The Danger of Envy: Comparing our struggles to the "ease" of the ungodly is a spiritual trap (v. 3).2. The Sanctuary Perspective: Eternal perspective is found in worship. We see that the wicked stand in "slippery places" (v. 17-18).
Practical Lessons
FORMAL PRAYER
Whom have we in heaven but Thee? and there is none upon earth that we desire beside Thee. God is the strength of our heart, and our portion for ever. Amen.
