Psalms 135 Study & Commentary

Psalm 135 is a call for the house of Israel to praise the Lord for His greatness in creation and history, contrasting Him with the idols of the heathen.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. God’s Pleasure: The Lord does whatsoever He pleases in heaven and earth (v. 6). His sovereignty is absolute.
2. The Lord’s Name: His name and memorial endure throughout all generations (v. 13).

FORMAL PRAYER

Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the name of the Lord; praise him, O ye servants of the Lord. For the Lord is good. Amen.
