Psalms 56 Study & Commentary

Psalm 56 is a prayer of trust when David was captured in Gath. He declares that he will not fear what flesh can do to him and that God "bottles" his tears.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. What Time I am Afraid: Fear is a natural emotion; the key is what we do with it—"I will trust in thee" (v. 3).
2. God Counts our Tears: God knows every sorrow and puts our tears into His "bottle" (v. 8). Our pain is never ignored by heaven.

FORMAL PRAYER

In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. Amen.
