Chapter Study & Analysis
Overview
Psalm 49 addresses the vanity of trusting in wealth. It explains that no man can redeem his brother or live forever through riches; only God can redeem the soul from the grave.
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. The Price of a Soul: The redemption of the soul is precious and it ceaseth for ever (v. 8). No amount of money can buy eternal life.2. Death the Leveler: Wealthy men die just like the fool. We must invest in what lasts beyond the grave (v. 10).
Practical Lessons
FORMAL PRAYER
God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. Amen.
