Psalms 72 Study & Commentary

Psalm 72 is a prayer for Solomon, but its ultimate fulfillment is in the Messiah. It describes a kingdom of perfect justice, where the poor are delivered and all nations bow.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Justice for the Poor: The King shall judge the poor of the people and break in pieces the oppressor (v. 4).
2. Universal Dominion: His name shall endure for ever, and all nations shall call Him blessed (v. 17).

FORMAL PRAYER

Give the king Thy judgments, O God. Let the whole earth be filled with His glory; Amen, and Amen.
