Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 34 is a song of praise written when David escaped from Abimelech. It contains the promise that "the angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him."

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Taste and See: We are invited to "taste and see that the Lord is good" (v. 8). Faith is an experiential reality, not just a theory.
2. The Broken Heart: God is "nigh unto them that are of a broken heart" (v. 18). Affliction is often the place where we experience God’s closest presence.
3. Many Afflictions: The righteous face many troubles, but the Lord delivers them out of them all (v. 19).

FORMAL PRAYER

We will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in our mouths. Thank Thee for being nigh unto our broken hearts and for delivering us from all our fears. Amen.
