Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 147 praises God for rebuilding Jerusalem and for His power in nature, noting that He who heals the brokenhearted also counts the stars and calls them by name.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The God of the Macro and Micro: He healeth the broken in heart AND telleth the number of the stars (v. 3-4). No detail of your life is too small for the One who runs the universe.
2. A Heart for the Humble: The Lord lifteth up the meek and "taketh pleasure in them that fear him."

FORMAL PRAYER

Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God. He hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee. Amen.
