Psalms 63 Study & Commentary

Psalm 63 was written in the wilderness. David expresses an intense spiritual thirst for God, declaring that God’s lovingkindness is better than life itself.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Early Seeking: "Early will I seek thee" (v. 1). Priority in seeking God determines the peace of the day.
2. Better Than Life: Recognizing that God’s love is superior to physical survival changes our perspective on sacrifice (v. 3).

FORMAL PRAYER

O God, Thou art our God; early will we seek Thee. Because Thy lovingkindness is better than life, our lips shall praise Thee. Amen.
