Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 59 is a prayer for deliverance from enemies who "wander up and down for meat." David resolves to sing of God’s power and mercy in the morning.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. God as our Defence: God is a "high tower" in the day of trouble (v. 16).
2. Morning Worship: Even when enemies prowl at night, the believer can look forward to singing of God’s mercy when the sun rises.

FORMAL PRAYER

Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy. Amen.
