Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 80 is a plea for restoration, using the refrain: "Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved."

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Vine of Israel: God brought a "vine out of Egypt" (v. 8). We are God’s planting, and we depend on Him for growth and protection.
2. The Son of Man: Prayer for the "man of thy right hand" (v. 17) points ultimately to Christ, our only source of life.

FORMAL PRAYER

Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause Thy face to shine; and we shall be saved. Quicken us, and we will call upon Thy name. Amen.
