O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

Chapter Study & Analysis
Overview
Psalm 116 is a personal thanksgiving for deliverance from death. The psalmist asks, "What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits?" and resolves to pay his vows.
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. The Cup of Salvation: The only response to God’s grace is to "take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord" (v. 13).2. The Death of Saints: "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints" (v. 15). Even in death, God’s children are held in His care.
Practical Lessons
FORMAL PRAYER
I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Amen.
