Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 113 begins the "Hallel" psalms. It praises God for His condescension—though He is high above all nations, He stoops to lift the poor out of the dust.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. God Stoops to Save: God is "high above all nations," yet He humbleth Himself to behold the things in heaven and earth (v. 4-6).
2. Lifting the Needy: God takes the poor from the dunghill to set him with princes (v. 7-8).

FORMAL PRAYER

Praise ye the Lord. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord's name is to be praised. Amen.
