Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 112 describes the character and blessings of the man who fears the Lord. He is generous, righteous, and "shall not be afraid of evil tidings."

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Steadfastness in Bad News: The righteous person is not shaken by "evil tidings" because his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord (v. 7).
2. Generosity: He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor (v. 9). Godly character is evidenced by a lifestyle of giving.

FORMAL PRAYER

Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord. Grant us, O Lord, to be upright in heart and a light in the darkness. Amen.
