Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 106 contrasts God’s mercies with Israel’s repeated rebellions. It is a confession of national sin and a plea for God to gather and save His people.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Danger of Forgetfulness: Israel "soon forgat his works" (v. 13). Forgetfulness is often the first step toward rebellion.
2. Leaness in the Soul: God gave them their request but "sent leanness into their soul" (v. 15). Be careful what you insist on apart from God’s will.

FORMAL PRAYER

Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise. Amen.
