Psalms 90 Study & Commentary

Psalm 90, the "Prayer of Moses," contrasts the eternity of God with the brevity and frailty of human life, asking God to "teach us to number our days."

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Dwelling Place: God has been our "dwelling place in all generations" (v. 1). Security is found in Him, not in time.
2. Numbering our Days: Wisdom is the ability to live in light of our mortality (v. 12).

FORMAL PRAYER

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us. Amen.
