Psalm 144 is a prayer for victory and prosperity. David blesses the Lord who teaches his hands to war and asks for a state where "our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth."
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. The God of Strength: Blessed be the Lord "which teacheth my hands to war" (v. 1). God equips us for the spiritual battles we face.2. The Definition of Happiness: "Happy is that people, whose God is the Lord" (v. 15). True national and personal prosperity is spiritual.
