Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 58 is a strong rebuke of unjust judges. David calls for God to break the teeth of the wicked and asserts that there is indeed a reward for the righteous.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Reality of Judgment: Verily there is a reward for the righteous: verily he is a God that judgeth in the earth (v. 11).
2. Innate Sinfulness: The wicked are "estranged from the womb" (v. 3). This highlights the need for the transforming power of the Gospel.

FORMAL PRAYER

Lord, break the power of the wicked and show the world that Thou art the Judge of all the earth. Amen.
