Psalms 57 Study & Commentary

Psalm 57 was written when David fled from Saul in a cave. He seeks refuge in the shadow of God’s wings until "these calamities be overpast."

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Shadow of Thy Wings: Trusting God’s protection during the "storm" of calamity (v. 1).
2. A Fixed Heart: "My heart is fixed, O God" (v. 7). Stability comes from a heart firmly set on praising God despite the circumstances.

FORMAL PRAYER

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth. Amen.
