Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 92 is a song for the Sabbath day. It praises God’s works and declares that the righteous shall flourish like a palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Beauty of Praise: "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord" (v. 1). Gratitude is spiritually healthy.
2. Flourishing in Old Age: The righteous shall "still bring forth fruit in old age" (v. 14). Spiritual vitality is not tied to physical youth.

FORMAL PRAYER

O Lord, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. We will show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning and thy faithfulness every night. Amen.
