Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 110 is a major Messianic psalm. It depicts Christ as the eternal King and Priest after the order of Melchizedek, ruling in the midst of His enemies.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Lordship of Christ: "The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand" (v. 1). Jesus is the ascended and sovereign Lord.
2. The Eternal Priesthood: Christ is our Priest for ever (v. 4). We have a permanent mediator between us and God.

FORMAL PRAYER

We exalt Thee, O Lord, our King and Priest. Rule Thou in the midst of our lives and lead us in the beauties of holiness. Amen.
