Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 102 is a prayer of the afflicted. The psalmist laments his suffering and the ruin of Zion but finds comfort in the eternal, unchanging nature of God.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. God’s Immutability: "Thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end" (v. 27). In a world of decay, God’s unchangeable nature is our anchor.
2. Care for the Destitute: God will regard the prayer of the destitute and not despise their plea (v. 17).

FORMAL PRAYER

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee. Hide not thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble. Amen.
