Psalm 87 celebrates Zion as the city of God, noting that people from various nations (Egypt, Babylon, Philistia) will be counted as being "born there."
CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS
1. The Glory of the Church: "Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God" (v. 3). Zion represents the dwelling place of God’s people.2. Spiritual Birthright: God records the inhabitants of Zion. Our true citizenship is defined by our relationship with Him.
