Psalm 141 is a prayer for sanctification and protection. David asks God to set a watch before his mouth and not to let his heart incline to any evil thing.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Guarding the Mouth: "Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips" (v. 3). Our speech is the front line of our sanctification.
2. Refining Reproof: The "smiting" of the righteous is a kindness and an "excellent oil" (v. 5). We should value godly correction.

FORMAL PRAYER

Lord, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me. Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense. Amen.
