Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 103 is a hymn of pure praise. David lists the benefits of God: forgiveness, healing, redemption, and a mercy that is as high as the heavens.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Forget Not His Benefits: We often remember our problems and forget God’s "benefits" (v. 2). Gratitude is an intentional act of memory.
2. As a Father Pitieth: God knows our frame; He remembers that we are but dust. His compassion is rooted in His perfect understanding of our frailty (v. 13-14).

FORMAL PRAYER

Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Thank Thee for removing our sins as far as the east is from the west. Amen.
