Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 124 acknowledges that if it had not been for the Lord who was on Israel's side, their enemies would have swallowed them up; it celebrates God as our help.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. If Not For the Lord: We must recognize that our survival in the face of spiritual and physical enemies is due solely to God’s presence (v. 1-2).
2. The Broken Snare: "The snare is broken, and we are escaped" (v. 7). God is the expert at making a way where there is no way.

FORMAL PRAYER

Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Thank Thee for being on our side when men rose up against us. Amen.
