Psalm 122 expresses joy in going to the house of the Lord and urges prayer for the peace of Jerusalem, declaring that those who love her shall prosper.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Joy in Fellowship: "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord" (v. 1). Corporate worship is a source of joy.
2. Pray for Peace: We are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (v. 6), which includes praying for the stability of God’s people.

FORMAL PRAYER

Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For our brethren and companions' sakes, we will now say, Peace be within thee. Amen.
