Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 132 recalls David’s desire to find a place for the Lord’s habitation and asks God to remember David’s afflictions and the promises made to his line.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Seeking God’s Dwelling: David would not rest until he found a place for the Lord (v. 3-5). Priority should be given to God’s presence.
2. The Horn of David: God has "ordained a lamp" for His anointed, which finds ultimate fulfillment in Christ (v. 17).

FORMAL PRAYER

Arise, O Lord, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength. Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness. Amen.
