Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 25 is an acrostic prayer for guidance, pardon, and protection. David expresses his trust in God and asks not to be ashamed, pleading for the Lord to remember His tender mercies.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Paths of the Lord: All God’s paths are mercy and truth (v. 10). Even when the way is difficult, we can trust the nature of the One leading us.
2. The Secret of the Lord: God reveals His "secret" (intimate counsel) to those who fear Him (v. 14). Spiritual insight is a fruit of reverence.
3. Waiting on God: "On thee do I wait all the day" (v. 5). Faith is demonstrated by our willingness to stay on God’s timeline.

FORMAL PRAYER

Show us Thy ways, O Lord; teach us Thy paths. Remember not the sins of our youth, but according to Thy mercy remember Thou us for Thy goodness' sake. Amen.
