Chapter Study & Analysis

Psalm 77 is a prayer in deep trouble. Asaph asks if God’s mercy is clean gone for ever, but finds comfort by remembering the "years of the right hand of the Most High."

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. The Remedy for Despair: When overwhelmed, don't look at the problem; "I will remember the works of the Lord" (v. 11).
2. Thy Way is in the Sea: God’s path often goes through the "mighty waters" where His footsteps are not known (v. 19).

FORMAL PRAYER

Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God? Thou art the God that doest wonders. Amen.
