Maher-shalal-hash-baz: A chapter on the Sanctuary and the Snare. Isaiah warns against confederacies and urges the people to Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself and fear Him alone.

THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT

1. The Sanctuary vs. The Stone of Stumbling: To the believer, God is a sanctuary; to the rebel, He is a rock of offence (v. 14).
2. To the Law and the Testimony: The standard for truth. Any word that does not align has no light in them.
3. Anti-Occultism: Rejection of necromancy in favor of seeking the living God.

PRACTICAL LESSONS

1. Sanctifying God: Making God the primary object of our fear removes the fear of man.
2. Discernment: Testing all new messages against the established Word of God.
