Chapter Study & Analysis
Overview
Isaiah 54 - The Everlasting Kindness: God calls the "barren" Zion to sing and enlarge her tent. He promises that His "kindness shall not depart" from her, comparing His oath to the covenant of Noah, and declaring that "no weapon formed against thee shall prosper."
THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT
1. The Marriage Covenant: God describes Himself as the "Husband" of His people, taking back the "forsaken" with great mercies.
2. Inviolable Security: Just as God swore the waters of Noah would no more cover the earth, He swears His wrath against the redeemed is settled.
3. Heritage of the Servants: Protection from accusation and weapons is the "heritage" given by the Lord.
Practical Lessons
PRACTICAL LESSONS
