THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT

1. Victory Over Death: A pivotal Messianic promise (v. 8) quoted in 1 Corinthians 15. God Himself will wipe away all tears.
2. The Messianic Banquet: Salvation is pictured as a "feast of fat things," emphasizing abundance and fellowship.
3. Divine Defense: God is a "strength to the poor" and a "refuge from the storm" (v. 4).

PRACTICAL LESSONS

1. Patient Waiting: "This is the Lord; we have waited for him, we will be glad" (v. 9). Endurance is rewarded by the sight of His salvation.
2. Wiping Away Tears: Trusting in the ultimate comfort that only the Creator can provide.
