Isaiah 18 Study & Commentary

Isaiah 18 - The Message to Ethiopia: A message to the land "shadowing with wings." God tells them to wait while He remains "quiet in his dwelling place" until the harvest, when He will prune the vines.

THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT

1. Divine Patience and Timing: God is not in a hurry; He observes quietly until the perfect moment for intervention (v. 4).
2. Global Sovereignty: God's reach extends to the most distant nations known to the ancient world.

PRACTICAL LESSONS

1. Waiting on God: Divine silence is not divine absence.
2. Visible Sovereignty: God will raise an "ensign" on the mountains for all to see.
