Chapter Study & Analysis

Isaiah 65 - New Heavens and New Earth: God answers the people's prayer, distinguishing between His rebellious servants and His faithful ones. He promises to create a new cosmic order where sorrow is forgotten, longevity is restored, and the "wolf and the lamb shall feed together."

THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT

1. The Election of Grace: God was "found of them that sought me not" (v. 1), showing His initiative in reaching the Gentiles.
2. The End of Curse: In the New Creation, there is no more weeping; labor is fruitful, and children are not "born for trouble."
3. Reversed Eden: The curse on the serpent remains (v. 25), but the rest of creation is at peace.

PRACTICAL LESSONS

1. Living in Hope: Keeping the vision of the "New Earth" in mind during present sufferings.
2. Consistent Loyalty: God blesses those who "forget not his holy mountain" and avoids those who follow their own thoughts.
