Theological Context & Insights
THEOLOGICAL CONTEXT
1. The Carrying God: A beautiful metaphor of God as a parent who sustains His people throughout their entire lifespan (v. 3-4).
2. The Impotence of Idols: Idols are a burden to the worshiper; Jehovah removes the burden from the worshiper.
3. The Unchanging Purpose: "My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure" (v. 10).
Practical Lessons & Daily Application
PRACTICAL LESSONS
1. Resting in Providence: If God has carried us in the past, He is faithful to carry us even to "hoar hairs" (old age).
2. Differentiating Faiths: Is your religion something you have to "carry," or is it the God who carries you?
