Chapter Study & Analysis

Noah, his family, and the animals enter the Ark, and "the LORD shut him in." The fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. It rained forty days and forty nights, and the waters prevailed exceedingly until all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. Every living substance was destroyed from the earth, and only Noah and those with him in the Ark remained alive.
1. The Door of Mercy: Just as God shut the door of the Ark, there is a time when the opportunity for salvation ends. We must enter while the door is open.
2. God’s Sovereignty over Nature: The flood shows that the elements of creation are under the absolute control of the Creator.
3. Preservation: God is faithful to preserve those who trust in Him, even amidst global judgment.
