Overview
Joseph is sold to Potiphar in Egypt. "The LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man." Potiphar’s wife repeatedly tempts him to commit adultery, but he refuses, saying, "How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" She falsely accuses him, and he is cast into prison, but even there, the LORD shows him mercy.
Practical Lessons
1. Integrity in Secret: Character is what you do when no one (except God) is looking.
2. Success in Trial: Prosperity is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of God in the midst of it.
3. Fleeing Temptation: Joseph didn’t argue with temptation; he fled from it.
