Chapter Study & Analysis

Joseph commands his silver cup to be hidden in Benjamin’s sack. When it is found, the brothers return in despair. Judah offers a powerful, heart-wrenching plea, offering himself to be a slave in Benjamin’s place so that his father Jacob does not die of grief.
1. Transformation: The brother who suggested selling Joseph (Judah) now offers to be a slave to save his brother.
2. Sacrificial Love: Judah’s intercession is a beautiful "type" of Christ, who stood in our place to save us from judgment.
