Chapter Study & Analysis

Joseph can no longer refrain himself and cries, "I am Joseph; doth my father yet live?" He comforts his terrified brothers, explaining that God sent him before them to preserve life. Pharaoh invites Jacob’s entire house to Egypt. Jacob’s spirit revives when he sees the wagons Joseph sent.
1. God’s Sovereignty: "It was not you that sent me hither, but God." God can turn human evil into global good.
2. The Power of Forgiveness: Joseph’s first instinct was to comfort and provide for those who hurt him.
3. Good News: The message "Joseph is yet alive" brought life back to Jacob, much like the Gospel brings life to us.
