Chapter Study & Analysis

Jacob blesses Pharaoh, stating his days have been "few and evil." As the famine worsens, Joseph gathers all the money, cattle, and land of Egypt for Pharaoh in exchange for bread, saving the population. Jacob, nearing death, makes Joseph swear to bury him in the land of his fathers in Canaan.
1. Life as a Pilgrimage: Jacob’s view of his life reminds us that we are just sojourners on this earth.
2. Stewardship: Joseph managed the crisis with integrity, benefiting both the king and the people.
3. Faith in the Promise: Jacob’s desire to be buried in Canaan proved he still believed the land belonged to his seed.
