Overview
As men began to multiply, the wickedness of man became great in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. God determined to destroy man from the face of the earth, but "Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD." God commanded Noah to build an Ark of gopher wood, pitched within and without, to save his family and the seed of every living thing from a coming flood.
Practical Lessons
1. The Nature of Sin: Wickedness begins in the "imagination of the thoughts of the heart." We must guard our minds.
2. Grace in a Corrupt World: Even when the whole world is corrupt, it is possible to find grace and walk uprightly before God.
3. Exact Obedience: Noah did "according to all that God commanded him," teaching us that partial obedience is not enough when following God’s instructions.
