Chapter Study & Analysis

Jacob perceives that Laban’s countenance is not toward him as before. God commands him to return to the land of his fathers. Jacob departs secretly with his wives, children, and cattle. Laban pursues him but is warned by God in a dream. They eventually make a covenant at Galeed, setting up a pillar as a witness between them.
1. God’s Protection: God restrains the hand of those who would harm His servants.
2. Integrity in Labor: Despite Laban changing his wages ten times, God blessed Jacob’s hard work.
3. Boundaries: Sometimes God uses conflict to push us toward the place where He wants us to be.
