Chapter Study & Analysis

In prison, Joseph meets Pharaoh’s chief butler and chief baker. Both have dreams which Joseph interprets correctly by the power of God. The baker is hanged, and the butler is restored. Joseph asks the butler to remember him to Pharaoh, but the butler "forgat him."
1. God is the Interpreter: Joseph gives all glory to God for the ability to understand mysteries.
2. Disappointment: Being forgotten by men is a test of our trust in God’s timing.
3. Ministering in Pain: Even in prison, Joseph was concerned for the "sad countenances" of others.
