Chapter Study & Analysis
Overview
The whole earth was of one language and one speech. In pride, men sought to build a city and a tower "whose top may reach unto heaven" to make themselves a name. God confounded their language and scattered them abroad. The chapter ends with the genealogy of Shem leading to Terah, the father of Abram.
