Chapter Study & Analysis

God gives Moses three miraculous signs (the rod, the leprous hand, and the water turned to blood) to confirm his authority. Moses pleads his lack of eloquence, and God appoints Aaron as his spokesman. After a mysterious encounter regarding the covenant of circumcision, Moses and Aaron gather the elders of Israel, who believe and worship.
1. "What is in thine hand?": God uses the ordinary things we already possess to perform His extraordinary work.
2. Obedience is Mandatory: The incident at the inn (v. 24-26) reminds us that those who lead God’s people must first be obedient in their own homes.
3. Collective Worship: Seeing the signs, the people "bowed their heads and worshipped," showing that true signs always lead to the glory of God.
