Chapter Study & Analysis

Instructions are given for the Altar of Burnt Offering (made of shittim wood and brass) and the Court of the Tabernacle with its hangings of fine linen. God also commands the use of pure olive oil for the lamp to burn always.
1. The Altar of Sacrifice: This is the first thing one encounters, teaching that there is no access to God without an offering for sin.
2. The Light of the World: The oil for the lamps represents the Holy Spirit, who provides constant light for God’s people.
3. Separation from the World: The court hangings created a boundary, showing that the kingdom of God is distinct and holy.
