Chapter Study & Analysis

Acts 28 concludes the narrative with Paul’s arrival in Rome after a three-month stay in Malta. Despite being under house arrest, he continues to preach the Kingdom of God and teach the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all confidence and without hindrance.

CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS

1. Ministry in Every Circumstance: Paul was a prisoner, yet he received all who came to him and preached (v. 30-31). We must not wait for "perfect" conditions to serve God; our current limitations are our current pulpit.
2. The Impartiality of the Gospel: Paul met first with the Jewish leaders and then turned to the Gentiles (v. 17-28). The Gospel is for all, but it requires a heart that is not "waxed gross" or closed to the Truth.
3. The Unhindered Word: The book ends with the word "unhindered" (v. 31). Men may be bound, but the Word of God is not. The mission of the Church continues through us until the end of the age.

FORMAL PRAYER

O God, who didst bring Thy servant Paul to Rome to testify of Thy Kingdom: we thank Thee that Thy Word is never bound. Grant that we may be faithful to our mission in every circumstance, teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and joy. Amen.
